Advanced Pre-Scan: A high speed pre-scan feature which maps each fiche or jacket precisely, locating each image or blank in order that all images are captured accurately and no scanning time is wasted. This feature maximizes throughput when image formatting is variable.
Powerful Software: The M565 is operator friendly! Uncomplicated yet comprehensive scanner setup/image capture, enhancement and indexing software. Automatic features such as, automatic density compensation, frame edge detection, deskew, crop, rotate and auto contrast occur on the fly during the scanning process.

Grayscale Output Option: this option provides extraordinary clarity to images with photographs and very low contrast newspapers and documents. Images may be created as bi-tonal or 256 grayscale.
Open Architecture: Mekel offers Scanner software which can be reconfigured and up-graded for third party development and user customization at no charge. No one else offers this feature either.

Throughput: Because fiche and jacket format can be variable, the one image per second rated speed of the M565 will realistically range between 800 to 2,400 images per hour.
Fiche Formats: Supports all standard fiche types including jackets, COM, AB Dick and Microx. Images can be 16mm or 35mm, positive or negative, diazo, silver, vesicular duplicates and cine or comic mode.
Electronic Controls: Continuous automatic scanning or interactive selection of individual images. Automatic compensation of fiche background density variations. Task setup by job or saved in setup file for all parameters for future applications.
