Kofax VirtualReScan™ technology

Bitonal/Grayscale Spectrum models are equipped with the latest Kofax VirtualReScan™ technology (VRS 3.0) built in, an Adrenaline 650i PC interface board and a SCSI-3 cable. As a result, you'll save a bundle off your initial investment, get up and running fast, and bypass connectivity headaches.

VRS 3.0 is a proprietary mix of circuitry and soft-ware that guarantees optimal image quality without slowing down the scanner. VRS produces virtually perfect images out of smudged copy, batches of mixed weight or thickness, torn, crinkled or folded originals, and misaligned paper without costly delays. It also now supports documents up to 32" in length.

And, VRS 3.0 is equally compatible with any software application using Image Controls, ISIS or TWAIN drivers.

Elegant clamshell design

Spectrum's simple, elegant clamshell design gives you access to the entire paper path, so you never have to call a service technician just because a piece of paper jammed. And notice the new lever on the side, making it even easier to open should you need to get inside.

Automatic color drop-out

What's more, Spectrum gives you automatic color drop-out at the touch of a button to minimize file storage space and maximize productivity when combined with your OCR/ICR software.

5,000 hour lamp life

Our burned-in lamps last up to 5,000 hours, preventing waste from defective lamps (which can be as high as 10% without burn-in).

Copiscan® 8000 Plus Series pedigree

For all its innovation, Spectrum remains a true, labor-saving Copiscan® 8000 Plus Series scanner, delivering the same incomparably high value you've come to expect from us. You still get our ingenious ultrasonic multi-feed detector that eliminates double feeds, which can also now be set to ignore things you want to keep, like sticky notes, labels or the like. At speeds up to 125 pages per minute in black and white and grayscale, Spectrum remains rugged, dependable and capable of scanning 60,000 documents per day. Our rollers last up to 600,000 scans and the skimmer assembly is designed so you can rotate the front and back rollers, allowing them to wear evenly and last longer.

And, if you ever decide you need color scanning, and we think you will, we can perform a simple, relatively inexpensive upgrade right on your premises to convert your Spectrum .
