You can access image enhancement features such as adjustable scanning in increments up to 256 gray tones, scanning in both bitonal and grayscale in one pass, adjustable contrast settings and binary filters that eliminate "noise" particles from the document.  The optional Image Processing Unit improves image quality even more with time-saving automatic photo/letter discrimination and ynamic thresholding.
